Prior to moving to New Zealand, I held a few art exhibitions in Iceland. Some of my art has been sold to private and corporate art collectors, banks and institutions. I also painted a few murals and created commission work for art collectors, of course a few pieces have ended up as gifts to family and friends. My works have also been exhibited at the Nut Point Gallery, and a solo exhibition at Annie’s Wine bar in the Christchurch Arts Centre.
Years ago I wrote and illustrated a children’s book “Ruslaskrimslid” (The Garbagemonster) The illustrations were hand pained with oil onto black and white photographs. The Garbagemonster book was used as part of the primary school curriculum in Iceland for over two decades on caring for the environment. I also wrote a play ‘Ruslaskrimslid’ which was performed in most primary schools throughout Iceland. The book and the play have had great support from the Icelandic Ministry of Environment.
After settling in New Zealand, my Art involved a lot of mythology and dreams. I guess I was looking for my roots. ‘Wind & Saga’ is my first children’s book in many years, available now on Amazon kindle & paperback.
Life is my inspiration now and I am working on another exciting project, more coming soon…
